An Unexpected Blessing

What a treat last night turned out to be!

A little background: Yesterday afternoon David flew Richard (Christy's husband) and their daughter Madeline to New Bern. Christy's - who really needs a blog- mom is moving to the area today and Richard was going to drive the moving truck from New Bern. Madeline just wanted to visit with some cousins and went along for the ride.

After the men and Madeline took off, Christy and her crew (which at this point included Jere because he went with them from school to the airport to watch take off) came over to visit and have pizza.

Christy offered to have Jere spend the night. Of course Jere wanted to do so. Caroline called my mom and dad and invited herself (i.e. asked if she could) to spend the night.

By the time I had dropped Caroline off at my parents David was back from New Bern. Usually when both children are out of the house we have something we have to go to, but since this was so last minute we didn't. It was so nice to have a relaxing night at home.

And since last week was the last week for basketball/cheerleading and baseball practice was cancelled due to the monsoon we are having - it has been a delightful Saturday!!
